Course Title : Workplace Risk Assessors Workshop
Duration : 2 Days Course Code : RA01

This Course is for : Anyone in the workplace who may be required to make Risk Assessments.

Course Aims : To provide candidates with the knowledge, experience and confidence to complete, record and action findings from risk assessment in the workplace.

Course Content : Day One = Overview of legislation = Accident causation, type and cost = Identifying hazards = Principles of risk assessment = Methods of recording risk assessment = Removing or controlling risks = Work place application
Day Two = Review of candidates' workplace findings = Common problem areas explored = Specific risk assessment requirements = Ongoing risk assessment in the workplace

A period of 3 to 4 weeks between the 2 days will allow candidates to conduct Risk Assessments in their workplace. During this period tutor support may be available if required.

Course Outcomes : = Ability to conduct Risk Assessments in the workplace to nationally required standards = Compliance with current Health and Safety Legislation

On successful completion of this training and assessment certification valid for 3 years will be issued.


Course Title : Workplace Risk Assessors Workshop Refresher
Duration : 4 Hours Course Code : RA02

This Course is for : Anyone in the workplace who may be required to make Risk Assessments. Candidates wishing to attend this training should be experienced Risk Assessors and should bring with them to the training 5 examples of recent Risk Assessments completed in their workplace.

Course Aims : To refresh candidates who are already undertaking Risk Assessment regularly

Course Contents : = Review candidates' recent Risk Assessments = Update of current legislation = Explore any problem areas being experienced

Course Outcomes :  = Reinforce ability to conduct Risk Assessment in the workplace to nationally required standards = Compliance with current Health and Safety Legislation

On successful completion of this training and assessment certification valid for 3 years will be issued.


Course Title : Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH 2002) Assessors Workshop
Duration : 1 Day Course Code : RA03

This Course is for : All those who have responsibility for implementing COSHH assessment within their organisation.

Course Aims : To provide candidates with an understanding of the COSHH 2002 and equip them with the ability to make and record assessments of substances in their workplace.

Course Content = Requirements of the regulations = Terminology for control of substances = The process of assessment = Recording findings = Preventing or controlling the risks = Assessment of the effectiveness of control systems

Course Outcomes = Raised awareness of the requirements regarding COSHH assessment = Compliance with current Health and Safety Legislation

On successful completion of this training a certificate of attendance will be issued.


Course Title : Manual Handling Assessors Workshop
Duration : 6 Hours Course Code : RA04

This Course is for : All those who have responsibility for Manual Handling Assessment in their workplace and who are competent in manual handling techniques.

Course Aims : To equip candidates with the knowledge and ability to make and record manual handling risk assessments in their workplace.

Course Content = The Manual Handling Regulation requirements for assessment = Terminology for recording assessments = The assessment process = Practical assignment technique = Rectification or control

Course Outcomes = To provide the necessary training and experience to become an appointed Manual Handling Assessor = Compliance with current Health and Safety Legislation

On successful completion of this training a certificate of attendance will be issued.

 


Course Title : Fire Risk Assessment Workshop
Duration : 1 Day Course Code : RA05

This Course is for : Designated employees responsible for Risk Assessment within the company.

Course Aims : To provide candidates with the practical skills and knowledge to implement Risk Assessments and fire safety procedures to reduce the risk of fires within the workplace.

Course Content = Principles of Fire Safety Legislation = The need to assess the risk from fire = Fire theory and terminology = Principles of fire risk assessment = Means of escape; travel distances, emergency routes and exits = Maintaining availability of means of escape; lighting, signing and common obstructions = Means of raising the alarm = Means of fighting the fire syndicate exercise = Emergency Planning/Communications (Practical risk assessment exercise) = Written test

Course Outcomes = Raise awareness of the needs of Fire Safety Assessment and to equip candidates with the skills to carry out such assessments = Compliance with current Health and Safety Legislation
